Thank you for your interest in joining us.
Our aim is to grow the Choir whilst maintaining a balance of voices. Growth in our number helps us to increase our sound, of course, but also will enable us to develop our repertoire both in range and musical scope.
We understand that, unless you know us well already, you will want to know more about what we do and the type of music we sing and we would like to get to know you better, so we have a relatively simple procedure and trial period which helps to create that opportunity for you and the Choir before making a commitment to join.
And it is a commitment. We have a lot of fun, laugh a lot but underneath we’re serious about singing. That means attending rehearsals once a week (Thursday evenings 6:45 - 9:00) and practising in-between. That way, we hope to make our public performances the best they can be. We all support each other in learning and there’s help on hand wherever it’s needed, whatever your level of expertise. Money wise, we pay a small subscription, usually by standing order, which helps to cover costs.
What Happens Next?
We'll ask you to join us at a rehearsal night, (perhaps a little early so that you can have a chat with Lesley) see what we do and join in with the choir if you’d like to. We have an initial trial period of four weeks and, if everyone is comfortable together, the Committee will then meet and confirm an invitation to make it permanent.
NOTE: Please understand that, in the interest of vocal balance, it may be necessary from time to time to suspend recruitment in one voice section, in which case, if you agree, we’ll keep your details and contact you as soon as a suitable vacancy exists.
