Big Help Carol Concert 10th Anniversary at the Metropolitan Cathedral

This Carol Concert is part of the project’s 10th anniversary celebrations and is to be held in the Crypt of the Metropolitan. This year we will be the only choir participating, and we shall be responsible for all of the entertainment.

Unfortunately tickets are not available for this event.

 

Dear Friends,

Jan and I had a conversation this morning with regard to The Big Help Carol Concert at the Crypt and our deepening concerns relating to singing and the worsening spread of the Omicron variant.  Our concerns had been further heightened when, last Friday, Michele reported that she had been told by her contact at the cathedral about ‘the bad ventilation in the Cyrpt’!  Given the circumstances we both feel that it would be foolhardy to go ahead with this concert and put our members at risk.

We are very much saddened, and disappointed, that after all your hard work at rehearsals - and at home - that it has come to this.

I rang Michele this morning - as I had promised last Friday - and she agreed that the event should be cancelled.  She has asked that, instead, we put on a concert at the Cathedral, in late March.
