About Liverpool Voice

Liverpool Voice is a well-established choir and celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. Started as part of a community choral initiative, the choir draws its members from across the Merseyside region and rehearses in the south of Liverpool. Since its formation in 2003 it has gone from strength to strength, presenting concerts and events in prestigious venues across the city.

Large-scale works from the choral tradition form an integral and important part of the choir’s repertoire. Recent performances have included: Faure’s Requiem, “The Armed Man - A Mass for Peace” by Karl Jenkins, and Vivaldi’s “Gloria”. Works by Tallis, Mozart, Bruckner, Vaughan Williams, John Rutter and Morten Lauridsen regularly feature in these choral concerts.

In addition the choir likes to present music from a range of different musical genres. Arts Café cabaret-style evenings and more informal settings provide opportunities for us to sing an eclectic musical mix of music with jazz, popular ballads, folk music, songs from the shows, and operatic favourites featuring in a typical programme. Our wide-ranging repertoire makes us a popular choice for singing at weddings, baptisms and other entertainment events.

Liverpool Pier Head: Feis Liverpool - singing with The Chieftains.
